You might already have heard that Pinterest is the fastest-growing social media outlet around. You may also have heard that it is driving more traffic to websites than other services that have been around for years.
BUT… you’re probably also asking (like many other writers) “How does Pinterest benefit authors? What kinds of things can I put on Pinterest boards – apart from my book covers?”
Andreea Ayers has put together a one-page PDF that suggests different ways that authors might tap into the power of Pinterest.
Who is Andreea? Well, for a start she is an author: in 2009 she wrote T-Shirt Profits: The Complete Guide to Starting Your Own Successful T-shirt Business after leaving the corporate world of marketing and doing exactly what the title suggests: starting a T-Shirt business. She started with 96 t-shirts in 2007, and after four years had sold over 20,000 t-shirts in over 300 stores in the United States, with six figure sales after only one year of running my business.
Andreea freely admits that she made a lot of mistakes along the way – such as spending a LOT of money on PR with negligible results. Armed with a surer knowledge of what did work, Andreea sold Tees for Change and now focuses on teaching people how to get their products in the media and how to increase online exposure and sales.
